The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin – Great Shelford

We are sorry to advise that all services will be cancelled from November 5th until December 2nd.

The Church remains open for private prayer daily, every day from 9.30 until 4 pm.

On Sunday evenings at 6.30 we will be meeting on Zoom for evening prayer. Contact to find out how to join us!

For service sheets and other resources, see our  Online Worship page

The Church of England has a national service every week available from 9am on Sunday morning.

The Remembrance Service on Rememberance Sunday will be live-streamed from Great Shelford Free Church and anyone can watch via their Facebook page (link will be on the two church websites in due course).  We are specifically asking people not to attend at the War Memorial but to take part ‘virtually’ via the live-stream or to stand outside their homes for the Silence at 11h00. The Government guidance is quite specific on this.

We are pleased to announce you can now donate to St Mary’s safely and securely online by using the following link:

Sincere thanks for your support of St Mary’s during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have tried to keep a close control on spending during the last few weeks, but opening the church for visitors and preparing for an eventual green light to holding public services has meant spending on sanitizing products and signage. Your support is invaluable as we gradually open up again. Reverend Simon Talbott

This text is on display in our porch and it sums up well what we try to offer:-
If you are curious
and have come to see
If you are weary
and have come to rest
If you are grateful
and have come to give thanks
If you are hurting
and have come for comfort
If you are listening
and have come to pray
If you are seeking
and have come for answers
We welcome you in Christ’s name!
